A foursome, also known as alternate shot, is a type of match in the sport of golf.
Golfers compete in teams of two, using only one ball per team, and taking alternate shots until the hole is completed.[1] Team members take turns in teeing off on each hole, i.e. one player will take the tee shot on odd-numbered holes, and the other on even-numbered holes.
Foursomes is commonly played as match play, with each hole being won by the team that completes it in the fewest shots. This form of golf is often played in team golf competitions such as the Ryder Cup,[2] Solheim Cup, Seve Trophy and the Presidents Cup. Foursomes can also be played in stroke play competitions, with the winners being the team who have taken the fewest number of strokes to complete a set number of holes.

The name of the Flintstones rose to prominence during the successful run of Michigan State basketball including three consecutive Final Fours and a national championship. The Fearsome Four is a college rugby national championship tournament sponsored by the National Small College Rugby Organization. Each year, the NSCRO hosts a final four-style college rugby national championship for small colleges competing in Division III.
The NSCRO sponsors 4 regional tournaments: New England, New York/Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and South. The Regional Champions are invited to compete in the annual Fearsome Four to determine the Division III College Rugby National Champion.

The World Pool Masters Tournament (or World Pool Masters for short) is an annual international nine-ball tournament. Formerly, it was called the European Pool Masters[1] until players from other parts of the globe were invited.

Currently, the NFL has 32 teams, and the others have 30 each (with the NHL expanding to 31 teams in 2017). The vast majority of major league teams are concentrated in the most populous metropolitan areas of the United States and Canada. Unlike the promotion and relegation systems used in sports leagues in various other regions around the world, those teams in the North American sports leagues remain static from season-to-season, unless they are disbanded or relocated. Each Big Four league, as well as Major League Soccer and the Canadian Football League, averages at least 15,000 fans in attendance per game as of 2015.

The champions of these six conferences, along with two "at-large" selections, were invited to play in the four bowl games. Each year, one of the four bowl games served as a national championship game. Based on this ranking system, the No.1 and No.2 teams met each year in the national championship game. Traditional tie-ins were maintained for schools and bowls not part of the national championship.
